I just ordered a SS/B R56! It won't be here until August, though

I just had a quick question...what are the performance tires that come stock with the 16" wheels? I'm wondering what brand and model. I tried searching the threads, but couldn't find it. Are they Dunlop runflats? Thanks for any info. Also, are they the same as the 17" tires?

Oh yeah, any inputs on the brushed aluminum trim w/anthracite headliner? That's what I ordered, and was wondering what opinions people had about that vs. piano black. Thanks.

 

don't know about the tires but i have the brushed aluminum with anthro headliner and they look great. my first 2 minis had the standard headliner and this one looks AMAZING!!!! it makes the inside look less like a toyota and more like a sporty MINI. i was deciding when i ordered at the dealer between the piano and brushed dash. the piano is nice but its too shiny and i heared its scratches very easy. the brushed looks great, sporty and is very durable (real metal) and almost scratch proof. stick with both, you made a great choice. the piano is more classy, the brushed aluminum is more sporty.

 

I ordered all-season tires (16-inch wheels) on my car. They came with Continentals.

Last month, I bought a set of performance tires off another buyer's new R56. The wheels were also 16 inchers and were fitted with Dunlops.

Sowellman, have you had experience with Falken Azenis or Kumho MX tires? Just curious how the Dunlops compare. I'm planning to autocross with the stock tires for a couple of races before getting onto race rubber. I'm just wondering how much I'd be giving up on the Dunlops vs. the Falkens.

flav, I'm glad that you're happy with the brushed/anthracite combo. I was told, though, that the secret compartment doesn't work on brushed aluminum...err excuse me, aluminium. Is that true. If so...bummer.

 

Well, I can tell you the "performance" 17's come with Dunlop SP Sport 07 runflats. Can't say for sure on the 16's.

But... the antracite headliner with the brushed aluminum dash will look excellent. Particularly if you're going with a standard black interior color. I flelt I had to go with Piano Black, though... based on my interior choice. It looks awsome, but I think the aluminum will hold up a lot better.

Questions about tires wheels and brakes should go into that forum not Coup talk. But you have mixed your topics when asking about various things.

Tires do vary. Check with your dealership to find out what they usually get.

The 16" runflats are OK, just use them up and move to non runflats later.
