Suspension Rear control arms DIY?
Rear control arms DIY?
I just installed front adjustable camber plates on my 06 MCS and wanted to get some rear control arms. Are the control arms a DIY project? I'd say that my wrenching ability is above average.
if you did the front suspension on your own, then the rear control arms would be easy. I have to do mine as well, but the front is harder (but not that hard) to work on than the rear of the car, in my opinion.
I am also doing camber plates and control arms, just need to get in there.

The only "hard" part of the rear control arms is finding the right combination of wrenches and sockets to get to the inboard ends. Technically very easy, and very obvious what you need to do once you are under the car. It just depends on the tools you have on hand. The issue is tool clearance.

We used a 1/2 or 3/4 inch "universal or uniwiggle" to get on the backside of those PITA nuts. Measure the new arms with the OEM ones and put them on. Then set to your preferences.
All 4 took like 30 minutes once we found that the universal would fit.
