BBS - custom rims for R90s and R98s

Does anyone know if BBS will do different rim widths/offsets for two-piece wheels like the R90 and R98? Prolly expensive, but it would be fun to get a set of 7.5 or 8 inch wide R90s with a +40 or +45 offset.

I have already tried and they said nope :(

The other option is just to have them made wider on your own.

I agree....but what are the 2 pieces. These arent like my 2 piece BBS's that allowed me to widen by adding large lips. Does just the center come out...or is the barrel removable. Either way....it doesnt offer widening capabilities that would help anything.

edit: 17" R90s are two piece....16" r90's arent. Just throwing that in there.

If you're gonna get wider BBS and get them custom widened i certainly hope you wouldnt go with those offsets Atleast space them out properly if you're going custom.

Atleast stay away from the 45....40 would be okay with the 8's and 35 would be nice for 7.5's

You are right they are centers and barrells. So, you can not just add a larger front lip like you are doing..

So you could widen them.....but it would only raise the offset from what it is now. And i dont know how wide you could go on the barrel without hitting the shocks....but i bet you could get to a 17x8.

So now all you have to do is take apart your r90's....measure the specs of the barrel and its holes, and send it in to kodiak, schmidt (germany), or image (UK) and have them make you some custom barrels. They wouldn't look wider standing outside the car....but you would have 8's under there.

I know the look you like, Rally. I'm not having that conversation again.

I've seen several cars with 7.5 wide wheels with +40 offset, and I personally like how that set-up fits. +35 would work fine, too, I'm sure. I mean really, 5mm doesn't do that much, and the +40 still has a little room.

For 8s, I don't think I'd go any lower (numerically) than +40. Given the same offset, the rim is going to be 12.7mm further out (and in, on the inside) than a 7" wide wheel. Add 10mm to that going from a +50 to a +40 and you're going to be about a whole inch further out. If I were getting an 8" wide wheel, it would be to run 235/40-17 tires. If you were sticking to a 205 or 215 width and wanted some stretch, then you could probably pull off a deeper offset with the 8s and still keep the tread under the fenders.
