Whats up with MINI Dealer Service?

Hello Fellow MINI owners,

I know more then a few MINI Dealers have taken hits on NAM for lack of service.

Today I want to hight light a GREAT Service visit at a Great Dealer.

At 48K I had some issues with my MINI. Called left voice mail for Eric at Bill Jacobs MINI in Naperville IL, he called me back within mins. Told me to bring it in, he'd would have a loaner ready for me.

I did and he did, a Blue S . Checked in and was on the road in less then 10 mins. The next day Eric called with the details about the covered repair. He also told me about a service they could do now that would save me $2000.00 while the MINI was apart. Also told me about a part that was not covered but needed to be replaced, and it was something I should claim on my ins.

The details of my story will get too :impatient long and the details really don't matter.

Bottom line, Eric and his team at Bill Jacobs jumped though hoops of FIRE to work with me and my INS company, kept me in the free "S" for 8 days and saved me over $2500.00 dollars. All the while with a smile.

My Next MINI, the Clubman, will be from Bill Jacobs, because Eric in service is the best salesman they have on staff.

My hat's off to Eric and Team Bill Jacobs MINI, Dustin

The part is the "Radiator support bracket" This is the lowest part in the front of the MINI. Seems many of them are cracked or broken because of parking lot stopper bumper thingys, and curbs. When it's cracked it can be that way for many miles. Once it breaks the radiator is left hanging by just the hoses.

When I valet my MINI I tell them to BACK IT IN the spot. My dealer had more then a few busted at the hands of a valet.

Most INS companies will cover it has a body part. However they want a Body shop to do the work, thats the rub. The MINI coolant system is easy to refill with bubbles in said system, when this happen, a MINI can over heat very fast and smoke the motor. Then you will fight it out with the INS company and body shop.

If yours breaks take it to a MINI Dealer with a body shop and with a big smile pay that dealer whatever the INS won't cover to have it done right the first time by a Dealer that will stand with you against the big bad INS company.
