No discounts on MC?

Hey all,

I'm going to be ordering a mini in the very near future so I went to a dealer recently. Test drove, talked price, financing, whole nine yards. However, they were not willing to negotiate on the price at all, what miniusa.com said, is what they were set on selling it for.

I'm not great at negating so my question is should I be expecting this with summer around the corner? I am also planning on having it factory made, not something off the lot. I would have expected at least some wiggle room, maybe throw in Xenon lights or the DSC (both are only a couple hundred).

Should I not expect any discounts at all or was it perhaps just the dealer/sales guys? I'm looking at dropping around 26,XXX with taxes and all.

Thanks guys...can't wait to finally get all this out of the way and hop in my own mini

Welcome to MINI and NAM. No, you probably won't get below MSRP or get stuff thrown in. Some people in some locations are able to get a couple hundred off, or floormats, but outside those areas most people pay MSRP. There are still some dealers selling above MSRP. They also don't have much incentive to discount an ordered vehicle-they don't have to pay inventory tax, insurance, clean them, etc. Cars on the lot are costing them money so they would discount those first if they'd discount at all.

What area of the country are you in?

Discounts are rare if non-existent. Don't fret over it, just buy the car. Occasionally they throw in free mats but that's not even guaranteed. The car is amazing and a great value so don't feel too ripped-off.

Ok, thanks for the information...I just wanted to make sure it wasn't my poor haggling skills

I live in Chicago, west side near Oak Park.

I agree, theres no wheeling and dealing with MINI Dealers, even the used MINIs are hard to deal on. One of the great things about MINI's is the value they hold. The MINI is a great auto value for many reasons most you will better understand after your 1st week with your MINI. I hate paying full price for anything, but did so with a smile for my MINI and will for the next one too.
