Just call it the miracle on Northwest Highway. What could have been a Friday night plane crash turned into somewhat of a circus after a small aircraft ran out of fuel and made an emergency landing near a busy Palatine intersection.By Sara Faiwell

No one was hurt when the Piper Cherokee Cruiser plane made its way down onto Northwest Highway and Quentin Road, in front of Brandts restaurant, just before 8 p.m.
Having left work moments before at A.C. Imports Jaguar down the street, Lin Chandler was driving his 2006 red Mini Cooper home when all of a sudden the plane came up behind him and kept going over the roof of his car.
As he pointed out the scratch it left, Chandler, of Arlington Heights, said he’s just glad everyone is OK.
“I called my wife, told her that I was hit by an airplane and would be late for dinner,” he said.
I was just thinking that the MINI is rather tall. It looks like it is 4 or 5 in. taller than my Integra. If it had been the Integra, the plane would have missed. If it had been a Minivan, SUV, or pickup truck it probably would have hooked the plane and been rather nasty.
and skuzzzy thats funny i thought of you when i read it!! LOL
