Airconditioner/overheating same problem?

My mini won't stay in air conditioning mode if I am stopped, the AC light blinks and the cool air stops. Is this a overheating issue or is my AC on the fritz? thanks for your help, [I'm a newbie]. Should I take it to the dealer or is there a simpler fix.

airconditioning/overheating

Yes, it's the same problem. Or at least that's what I was told. I just got my car back yesterday after having this problem fixed. I had to have the cooling fan system (or something like that) replaced. Cost nearly $800.

I just got mine back for this same problem as well. there are topics on here about this as well. apparently there is a small cooling fan for the power steering pump located on the same circuit as the cooling system. the dealer replaced my cooling system and i had the same problem. this little power steering pump fan can be clogged or broken easily due to its location (they didn't tell me where it was at) and if it goes the a/c turns off due to a protection. i bet you have fuse f05 blown too. (thats the fuse for the circuit) i researched on here and told them what to look for and they fixed it.
