just did my 1000 mile post break in oil change on my new 2007 MCS. now that im running on fresh oil i notice that my next service for a change is at 16000 miles according to the on board computer. there is NO WAY im waiting that long, but i am trying to decide what my own personal oil change interval is going to be. maybe every 5000 maybe 7500 maybe even 10000 (at the most). i have two questions for you guys

1. (this is the important one) have any of you owned a 2002-2006 MINI that has high miles and that you stuck to the service indicator. i guess what i am asking is have any of you had any engine related problems in the older MINIs while following MINIs recommended service intervals?

2. how often are you planing on changing your oil?

 

I change mine myself midway between the recommended intervals (except I
did the first one beteen 3,000 and 4,000 miles).
