Thanks

I'll keep an eye out for it. I'm looking for a first run JL, IJ CLEAN RED and CLEAN WHITE, mint on card.

They must be first runs, with the METAL bottoms. I have a full set of the second run with the black plastic bottoms, MOC, but only the blue of the first run. Let me know if anybody runs across any.

pezboy 01-08-2005 09:22 PM

Hmm...my clean ones are metal bottom - dirty ones are plastic bottom. They made dirty with metal bottom?

Sorry. Let me clarify.
The JL IJ MINIs came clean with metal bottoms on the first run.

The second run came dirty AND clean with black plastic bottoms.

I'm trying to get hold of the red and white, MOC of the first run.

The only way you can tell the difference between the first and second run clean cars, other than the bottoms, is that the card on the first run has the choking hazard warning just in English and the second run has the choking hazard warning in 2 languages.

I still see the clean ones hanging in the stores around here. I'll have to check to see if they are metal base or not. Going to be tough buying them now and having the card be Mint. They've fallen off those damn hangers about a 1,000,000 times already

It was a present from my daughter, but I think she picked it up on eBay. She's a power seller and spends more time there then I do on MINI message boards! I know hard to believe! I thought I had seen one of those Alternators in MINI format on eBay about 5 months ago. It was a seller from Hong Kong, so even though I was interested I was leery of bidding. I've been keeping an eye out for one here stateside ever since. They look like a much better build quality they the one I've got.

Nice Corgies! No one locally sells them, wish they would as I've always loved the quality feel of a good builder. Maybe it's time to start getting only Top Quality models???

Thanks!

Here is my favorite MINI model. It's a Schuco Hannover Airport "Follow Me" MINI Cooper in 1:87 scale. This is a real MINI and I got to see it, and got the model at the Strahlung Pur II meet last year in Düsseldorf, Germany.

Man you are right about that! What started out as "just" the JCW Challange set has grown into what my wife likes to call, "that Thing". As in, when are you going to move that thing?  One of these days I'll have a room just for RC Motoring! Here is the latest track my g-son and I built, long straight aways and tight turns, running dual power supplies. BTW, the red IJ one even with an extra magnet, will still bounce off the wall when it departs the track.

The only place I had seen it prior to my purchase and after my purchase is eBay. The guy also has a 1:32 or 1:24th scale that has a larger production run but was selling for about the same price as the 1:18th scale.

I can't say on this public forum what I paid for it, too many people know my wife and how to get in touch with her, but I will say it was less then what the dealer charges for theirs.

pezboy 01-09-2005 01:00 PM

Ahhh cool.

Here are my latest not with me yet - still at my girlfriend's. She picked up the Fast Lane 2 pack, Austin Powers, and Race City today though!

That Austin Powers one is neat.

Now that's cool. No not the MINIs (although they're nice too), the fact that your GF buys you MINIs, stages them (nice job, BTW), will take a picture and email it to you! She's a keeper:thumbsup:

I don't have the Austin Powers one yet, haven't seen it in any of the local places. One day.........

LOL:lol: I had "that thing" on my dining room floor while waiting for a dining table. My wife was pretty tolerant considering I was "bonding" with my 5 year old boy:thumbsup:

I have some catch up to do with the JCW Scalextrics. Prior to my Mini arriving, I was into some "moderate" slot car collection and accumulated somewhere around 40 to 50 1/32 scale Flys, Scalextric, Ninco, Monograms, etc. Now every dime is going to my Msfit:lol:

Zoinks! I'd rather get something for the MINI for that kind of cash.

pezboy 01-10-2005 02:36 AM

Thanks...they are also on eBay. ~$63 buy it now - plus shipping from the UK. Estimated shipping it shows 20-25 pounds so even that drives it up to around $100!
