removing the A-pillars is really easy, I've done it dozens of times, it is a tight fit but just peel back the weather stripping, remove one screw and a pop off a couple plastic fasteners. Just go slow and be gentle.
Edge to edge visibility is very mildy affected, that is why I took the picture showing both of them installed but it was never an issue and for anyone. The pro's of getting the speakers as far forward as possible for stereo imaging greatly outweigh this con. It really is beautiful.
For wiring, I ran speaker wires under the carpet from the amp along the sides of the vehicle, under the kick panels and up along the dash under the weather stripping. Put about a foot of slack in it so you can connect it to the A-pillar and then get it into place
And shipping to Socal shouldn't be a problem, they don't weight very much.
