I had had this intake specially made to fit directly on the bmwv12 throttlebody but I went back to stock tbody and got a ddm intake box so I no longer will be using this setup. It CAN fit stock tbody like I am with the adapter ring but it won't fit stock or aftermarket intake lids because it has a 3in inlet..
the filter has a 6in velocity stack in it to help funnel down airflow and increase intake airspeed velocity,  which is VERY important as it drops running the larger tbody and this intake helps counter that.
Iiiiiiiif you want my little intake box I made too I can toss it in for free but it's nothing special,  just a simple plastic heatshield..
with the filter attachment,  you can move the filter forward or backwards. As you see I run mine as far back as I can and cut out the plastic facia behind it so it gets direct , cold air from the rear windshield scoops / vents.
