Bosch rotors have corrosion protection on all surfaces. 

this will prevent rust formation on areas not swept by the brake caliper pads. this treatment is  particularly useful in areas where winter road salt & brine use is prevalent.   I mistakenly purchased this pair of the larger dia. S model  280 mm rotors for my base model 2013 Clubman.  These are unused rotors for S model  MINIs of 2nd generation production -   R55 & R56 submodels.

 while there are those who only consider performance rotors  at all corners , remember  70% of stopping is the front axle.  i have cryo treated slotted rotors on the front.  the Bosch rotors (proper size installed on my car now) minimize my rust buildup issues when i winter drive.
