Description:

I'm selling my 03 Cooper S. Local deal preferred. The car runs and drives great. No rust. Mileage may increase as I will continue to drive it.

Interior and Options:

  • Leather/heated seats
  • Aftermarket radio with bluetooth
  • Auto climate control
  • Scangauge2 w/ tach mount
Modifications:
  • LED interior lights
  • 15% supercharger reduction pulley
  • cat-back exhaust
  • aftermarket oiled air filter
  • Motegi Racing wheels
  • Michelin Pilot Sport AS3 tires with about 10k miles left on them. I also have a set of Hankook Ventus V12 summer tires that still have about 2/3 life remaining that I’ll include if you want them.
I purchased the car in December of 2020 at around 143k miles. The car had overheated in the previous owner's driveway due to a failed radiator fan. This also popped the oil cooler and contaminated the coolant with engine oil. No coolant made it into the oil system.

The vehicle had a lot of work done on it around the 138k mile mark according to the previous owner, but with no documentation (I haven’t seen any reason to doubt their claim). Around this time the following maintenance items were done:
  • Head rebuild, head gasket
  • Supercharger service
  • Clutch, clutch slave cylinder
  • CV boots
  • Front brake rotors/pads
  • Exhaust manifold w/ cat, and O2 sensors
Under my ownership I have replaced (DIY) the following over the last 9k-ish miles (I have parts receipts if interested):
  • Rear brake rotors/pads
  • Oil cooler
  • Radiator, coolant, radiator fan, coolant expansion tank
  • All 3 engine mounts
  • Spark plugs, coil pack w/ wires, valve cover gasket
  • Water pump/gasket
  • All 4 struts w/ new mounts
  • Crank position sensor o-ring
  • Driver side window motor
With any car this age, there are some issues:
  • I have been dealing with an intermittent O2 sensor code that I have just been clearing. It comes back about once every couple months, and doesn’t seem to effect anything. I thought it might have been an exhaust leak, but I’ve had the exhaust checked a couple times, so it must just be a poor quality sensor or a corroded connection.
  • The passenger side door lock actuator is broken. The driver side locks and unlocks properly, so I just manually do the passenger side if I need to. The actuator is rather expensive to replace so I haven’t bothered.
  • The interior is in good shape, but the leather on the driver side seat bolster is cracking, and there is some wear on the interior door panels. The sunroof is fully operational.
  • The exterior has some faded paint, scratches, and rock chips that you’d expect for the age. Additionally there is a dent on the driver door (visible in pictures).
PM if interested. Also happy to answer any questions you may have. Thanks!
