Just got a full workover by RMW and this is my old cam. It has about 5K miles of strictly street driving on it. It's the WMW "Mild Street Cam" and it adds a very noticeable boost in power while running great on the stock tune. Makes the throttle MUCH more responsive and really boosts the midrange. The torque difference through the rev range is enormous.
If you have a 15% pulley (which I'm sure you do) and want another big boost in power for cheap, this is a great way to do it. Install takes about 2 hours, and is super easy. Costs $425 new.
Here's Way's marketing material on it:
"WMW Street Performance Camshaft for 2002-2006 R53 MINI Cooper S and 205-2008 R52 Cabrio S. This WMW cam is NOT a regrind as this is a brand new billet blank machined to exact specs. This is our mild street cam designed to be a simple install and allow you to get a nice low and mid range torque/HP gain without requiring a tune. We have accomplished this by a mild increase in lift on both the intake and exhaust. While also increasing intake and exhaust duration. This camshaft will also allow you to keep a good idle without the hot rod like sound.
Sold as indivdual WMW mild street cam
Below is a dyno sheet that was sent to us from a shop in Colorado that installed one of these WMW Mild Cams in a customer car. You can see the gains in the before and after."

Any markings on here to prove that this is from WMW?

Unfortunately WMW does not make these cams in house, they have them made to their specifications (by newman I believe). Way has been asked before what the specs are on the cam, and I don't believe he was willing to share that information. I knew that when I ordered it, and I'm not gonna pretend to know anything about cam specs and what works and what doesn't work... So I decided to trust his expertise and I was very happy with the performance boost I got for the price and relative ease of installation.
I have the receipt from when I ordered the cam, but other than that I do not see any markings on it that specifically say "WMW" or anything like that. That being said, it is visibly quite different from the stock cam. I'll add a couple of extra pictures to show what markings it does have... Not sure if they'll mean anything to anyone.
Sorry guys, all I can give is my word that it is what it is! But I'm 100% positive that this is the mild street cam.. I've only every purchased 1 cam and this is it. My new cam is an RMW dominator and it was installed by Jan himself!
So you removed the WMW street cam and installed the RMW Dominator cam, what was the difference? Power wise & streetability? Why did you change cams and which one would you recommed? I have an 2005 JCW. Thanks, Shimaze

Unfortunately it’s hard to say what the difference between the cams was, since too many other changes were made at the same time. The new cam was recommended by Jan at RMW, and he installed it at ths same time as his BVH, TVS900, E85 Kit, and Standalone ECU. Way too much going on there to comment on the cam itself. Either way, I sold the wmw cam a while ago, and the new owner is very happy with it (as was I). I highly recommend the WMW cam for an option that doesn’t require a tune, but if you are going bigger, the dominator seems to be universally regarded as a great choice. Tons of power and seemingly no sacrifices. It does need a tune to idle correctly though.
