That's a good deal ...
The 200bhp JCW Tuning Kit originally retailed for $4,500 (plus 10 hours labor). The JCW Upgrade (airbox, 380cc injectors plus remap) was originally $525 (plus 1.5 hours labor). The 210bph Tuning Kit was originally $4,775 (plus 11.5 hours labor). The factory JCW Package (3AL) which also included the JCW Sport Brakes and LSD was $6,300 but it required ordering the $1,400 Sport Package. \https://cimg9.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.nor...61765613dc.jpg |

Thanks for all those wonderful pictures Johnny! Much appreciated. And, I'm gonna add this old advert here: |
I still think it’s pretty cool that Mini offered these engine tuning kits as an option. In fact that’s really what made Mini’s so unique, you could customize them in so many ways which made no two alike.
I got lucky with mine, it’s an 2006 with the JCW factory installed, LSD and Sport Package. It’s an incredibly fun car and a relative bargain. |

This what I have gathered so far this is what i have gathered so far from here, other forums and FB. If im missing anyone let me know. It isnt perfect and its a work in progress, any suggestions would also be welcomed. |
I'll get you the other JCW number from my other engine that I got from the wrecking yard last year
I would like to see car color, location, mileage in that chart as well... would like to see car's production dates also if possible......just a suggestion Bryan |

Good work Usmcxd! I agree with A383Wing's suggestions, as that'd be interesting info. Possibly add if the car was slicktop or sunroof also? Some configurations are exceedingly rare, like once when I was researching older threads on NAM, I came across an '06 JCW Space Blue slicktop with roof same as body color, can't be too many of those out there! I haven't been active in this endeavor, but I'll try and start compiling --- any parameters you're sticking to? Like North America only for instance? I did come across an old registry which was very small but had an interesting footnote claiming that S10247 was the first factory install. Dunno if that jives though, doesn't seem correct to me? https://web.archive.org/web/20080723...-registry.org/ It would be great if we did actually know the first factory install, then we could hopefully find #100/100 LotSC and that'd give us the end number ain't it? Then we'd have a solid number for factory JCW production. https://www.northamericanmotoring.co...l-100-a-2.html : Attachment 192874 I did find #96 but there is no pic of the serial number. https://www.bluelinemotors.com/2008_...A_30109105.veh And, #84 here on NAM: https://www.northamericanmotoring.co...-84-100-a.html https://www.northamericanmotoring.co...0-img_0656.jpg I'll keep looking and trying to find more of 'em. : In the meantime, here's a couple of JCW from this mornings search... ...S16888 - 6/01/2007 https://showroom.auction123.com/loui...ource=Showroom louis_frank_motorcars Attachment 192875 Attachment 192876 : S5191 - 2004 - Liquid Yellow with roof same as body color - sunroof https://bringatrailer.com/listing/2004-mini-cooper-s/ (that car is currently up for sale again on BaT with 2 days left) : S5335 - 2004 - MC40 - Chili Red/White roof - slicktop https://www.northamericanmotoring.co...ml#post4263447 : S11637 - 2006 - British Racing Green/Silver roof - slicktop https://bringatrailer.com/listing/20...ooper-works-2/ : |
My other JCW engine number is S15505 ........I'll try to find the tag that came with it for what car it came out of and get you that info also.....I do know it was a 2006 R53
EDIT: Here is the info on the JCW car that I got the wrecking yard motor from last year 2006 R53, Production date July 5th, 2006, Dark Silver Metallic, White roof, white mirror caps, white bonnet stripes, NO SUNROOF, Couple interesting options, it did have the HK radio system, also had the front center armrest and rear fog light. The car that this engine came out of has gone to MINI Heaven......they crushed the car right after engine was removed Bryan |

Please pardon my anorak trainspotting tendencies... ...a bit more rambling on the topic of alternate rocker cover badges. As mentioned earlier it was something that the original Mini oldschool tuners did in the wayback days... Attachment 192863 ...but I failed to mention their modern equivalents. I just stumbled across a variant from MiniMadness and it reminded me that there's quite a few out there from various tuners: Attachment 192864 Attachment 192865 Attachment 192866 Attachment 192867 Attachment 192868 Attachment 192869 Any other alternate badges out there? |
Here's another one that was for sale in our forum.....car is sold, but the valve cover number is there.... S7008, 2005 blue R52

Would it be worth setting up a shared document or wiki so that everyone can help collate the info? |

@ECS Tuning Thanks for adding more alternates! I had totally forgotten about Cosworth... ...what a legendary nameplate it is. I've read a little about the heads they used to offer, but not really much info out there and it seems that they didn't produce them very long. Attachment 192819 And, just came across another alternate in the classifieds here on NAM: https://www.northamericanmotoring.co...r53-turbo.html Attachment 192820 |
Welcome, oh I remember the old web motorsport stuff also.

Just came across this thread. Looks like I might have the last factory (VIN verified) JCW supercharged Mini and I got it for a song. Just kidding although it is pretty late. Serial number S17515, factory build date 3/11/2008. Got any later?
Wish I had all the paperwork that went with it. Anyone know how to get new certificates? Any unusual owners manuals, pamphlets, booklets, warranty stuff, etc? https://cimg1.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.nor...c2d58bc9af.jpg |

That is a super sweet ride right there, thanks for sharing the pix, so many nice details, it's spec'd to the absolute hilt. That Cooper Garages decal is totally awesome too! Wish I had one of those, they are exceedingly rare. |

Wish I had one of those, they are exceedingly rare. Yes, it is exceptionally well spec’d. Some of the JCW bits are very rare. It also has the certificate which is still in the wrapper and a Mini “Ministry of Ownership” passport completely unused. Cooper Garages decal is VERY rare 😎 |
