OEM Carbon Fiber Shift **** Coating Cracking.......
I have an OEM JCW carbon fiber shift **** and I observed a few weeks ago that the clear coat is starting to split on the right side.
I don't wear any jewelry and I am the only one who drive this car. The handbrake is still perfect.
What kind of coating is on these parts?

Do you have a picture, never seen one crack? Just the gel coat yellow over years from back in 2004 sitting in the sun. But that does it on all CF that's really old.

I have dark tinted windows and the part has been installed less than 3 years ago when I took delivery at the dealer.
Anyway, it will be replaced under warranty but this is strange. No issue with the hand brake.
