I have no idea!! How would I know without asking and sounding like a jerk? Should I just come out and ask? What is DME?

So I'm new to the world of Mini tuning so forgive me if this is a dumb question or if it's been addressed (I searched but didn't find): I just bought a 16 JCW (traded in the 2009) with the remainder of the factory warranty. If I install a Dinan does that negate the warranty? I've seen people mention that they had it installed at the dealership so I assume it doesn't negate anything, amirite?

Dinan claims their tuner won't harm the car, but the Dinan warranty DOES NOT cover repairs to the car.
After you install a sport tuning box, you'll have so much fun you won't care. But no matter what anyone says, it's buyer beware.

If you live in the US, you're technically not on the hook for any repairs unless mini can prove it was caused by the tune. From what I've read, a few extra pounds of boost is very unlikely to directly cause any issues. That being said Mini would definitely have the upper hand in any warranty claims should you run into engine trouble. Most people remove the tune before services, making dealer detection very difficult.

That's what I figured. I dont want to do anything that would hurt the warranty lest my wife (who drives a Focus RS and a Ninja 1000, by the way, so you'd think she'd understand my need for speed) kill me should something go awry and the warranty is negated. But, dang, another 30-40HP in this thing, which is already quick, would be pretty amazing.

You can always remove it. After all, I can quit anytime if I want to, right?

Any chance you'll take it back for credit towards the Elite.

Never been tested on a RHD car but I wouldnt see why not as the engine bay itself is the same (from what I see on the interwebs at least). The factory matching warranty is only a US/Canada feature though and does not apply internationally.
