I read on a Mini post that the R98 17 inch wheels will fit the first generation Mini S with the JCW brakes in front such as the 2006 S JCW that I have. Is that true? Any advise would be greatly appreciated.

Yes, they were a no cost option in the ZSP Sport Package.
