are there any white or clear back lights for 2005 S's?
 

like the euro stuff, I love the way it looks on a black MINI which is what I'll have in 2 days!!!!! There's plenty on ebay but they're all for 2004-2002, none for 2005's. Help a soon to be new MINI Coop S driver out!! thanks

if you install a 02-04 reverse light on your 05 MINI you can then install a 02-04 white light kit.

Only thing you would have to do is route the wire in the 1 slot on the rear tail light plug to your new reverse light and then route your rear fog light wire to both of the rear tail lights in the #1 slot on your rear tail lights.

After that you can do the diode mod (connect a diode from slot 4 to 1) so that the top light comes on while braking. This should give you all the same functionality as a factor installed white light kit.

Also you would need 2 red reflectors installed to be street legal. Easiest place is on your 2 black plastic pieces in the rear bumper. Or you can have your dealership install them in the bumper but this requires them to drill your bumper.

thanks, sound like probably more work than I hoped. so I'm guessing that there isn't a new one out that's a direct replacement, any idea if there will be in the next couple of months?

Yes, there's a factory clear Euro rear light cluster for the '05. As far as I know there's nobody importing this yet, but you can order from <http://www.newministuff.com/new/index.php> in the UK.

As a plus the turn signals light up amber, instead of the lame red we get.
