I was looking into this too. Are they hard to swap out?

I found the ones for the cooper hard tops if you are looking for those. Just can't find the countryman ones. And from what I understand they are easy to install.

Yeah, but when you look at the actual part it says some kind of crazy grey "SCHIEFERGREY" not black, so is it the black line or is it grey?

That should be the black ones. If you have any questions email Justin at Sewell parts & he'll verify it for you.

It's called Shiefergrey, which is a real black grey, nearly black, but not black.
Nevertheless it looks realy good and black. Saw at the dealer.

Ahh, ok. I was getting confused when I was reading the parts. Thanks for the clarification!

Here what they look on a black CM.
The grey is the same as the side cuttles.

that looks good. I think I may have to get these. as for swaping them out its just a lot of clips. i found a small flat tip screwdriver or a plactic pnl tool works on the rings. I took a look at my tail lights when i had to have the uk light mod done to mine.

Oooo. I was debating but after these pics I think I'm sold.

Does anyone know if there's a blackline version of the boot lid handle (that big thick piece of chrome above the license plate)?

As far as I know there is not one. I ordered another one and had it painted. Looks a lot better now. If you go this route, I think it's like $50 for the piece and depending on what a painter will charge you, it should be under $100.

komet155 04-01-2013 06:06 AM

Thanks!

I just ordered the paintable one and will either paint it the same black as my roof OR body color. I'm going to photoshop the black option ahead of time to see if it goes well on my car with the black taillight frames on either side. I wouldnt want the back end to look too "busy."

ECSTuning 04-01-2013 06:43 AM

Komet , are you talking about the R56 version primed boot handle?

komet155 04-01-2013 08:06 AM

Yes, part #51132754240. I have a 2013 Cooper (non-S) which is equipped with a chrome handle.

Yes,

Thought you were talking about a possible black line version of the R60 handle / emblem.

You could get the primed version and paint or wrap it so if you ever go back to stock you will have your chrome version.

I think it would go well with the Black Line Trim around the tailights. Also if you can paint it to match the exact color of the blackline w/ gloss.

Thanks! :)

It looks like this might actually be available now:

I really dig the photos I've seen of the rear lights, but has anyone seen them ON a countryman?

ECSTuning 09-03-2013 12:24 PM

The kit is available for the rear black-line taillights with anthricite trims.
