NICE!!!! I would LOVE to do this, but where did you get the ducting? from way? cause that s#%& is HOT! (cool really but you know what I mean)

isnt there a way to cool both sides of the rotors too? Cooling one side seems......well........one sided to me. (sorry I had to go there)

They're from Way...The air is being directed to the center/inside of the rotor hub, which in my case, are Stoptechs which pumps air from the center outwards...:)

El_Griton 05-08-2007 08:43 PM

SWEET! will have to get a hold of Way........

Partsman 05-08-2007 08:54 PM

Nice work, Sid. Looks really good, now you just need to fit the Z06 ducts to the rears.

TheWrks 05-08-2007 08:55 PM

Looking good Sid but is that dust I see on Msfitoy

Rally@StanceDesign 05-08-2007 09:20 PM

Lookin good sid....cant wait to see it all finished and back on its wheels again :thumbsup:

Fracky 05-08-2007 09:30 PM

Whew, that's a sexy front-pic of your Cooper!!! What's the black "trim" around your new brake duct openings?

Wake|MCS 05-08-2007 10:27 PM

Yeah yeah nice brake ducts and all (I'm serious they're nice and the ducts on the bumper look sick) BUT where did you get those cool jack stands. Those things are awesome lol. Reminds me of like Formula 1 cars and Enzo FXXs with the in-car stands...

LOL...I wish they are built in...I'll check the brand for you after work...

I still need to rivet the ram inlets to the facia and connect up the ducting...:)

Bahamabart 05-09-2007 07:33 AM

Sid,

Glad to see that surgey went well - she looks good. Thanks for sharing the pics but where's the pick of the nurse wipeing your brow as you make the incision.

Why rivet? you could glue them or even 3m tape the suckers - or is it more the look you seek?

The only thing missing is that you post some numbers to argue/dispute.

I'm not going for GQ... This is Maxim  Rivets are my friends...I'll paint the intakes satin black then mount them with black rivets...

Lisa (Hot Nurse!) got me some bandaids...I'll put up a picture of my bloody knuckles later...

BTW...anyone know where I can get splitter standoffs that are 7" to 8" long? They need to be relocated...

SpiderX 05-09-2007 07:52 AM

Unbelieveably cool (pun inteneded) I wish I lived closer to you as I would ask you to hold my hand through said surgery....... after smelling my brakes this week I could use these......

You continue to be the benchmark my 'man:thumbsup:

Thanks Bob and it was great as usual to see you two again :)

I need to caution the faint of heart that this surgery involves trimming out much of the fiber-reinforced plastic and will permanently remove the fog lamp mounts and trimming of the aluminum bumper corners...call it small dieting...I didn't realize this until I trimmed the facia and said to self, "I guess this is the point of no return"

Sid - You past the point of no return long ago  .

Bahamabart 05-09-2007 08:54 AM

Sid,

gotta question from those not as far gone as you  - if one used flexible tubing to direct air to the brakes would one sacrific less of the oem behind the bummper?

Afraid not...the material needs to be cut away to clear the ducting, whether using flexible or hard ducting in order for them to clear the tire envelope...:)

Looks very sharp  . Those jack stands are the bomb too  . Please let us know the brand of those stands when you have a chance. Also you got these from "Way", who is this? Thanks for any info.

Waylen...he's one of the vendors on this site...very nice guy...:)

blainelv 05-09-2007 01:33 PM

Now you need to put some screens in the front "scoops" behind the hole. I know I'd hate to get rocks thrown at my brakes, or worst yet a plastic bag.:eek2:
