2011 Autocross
Next sunday is the next event.
Usually a few MINIs are running. Why not bring yours out too? Check out my video of the last course- only 0.5 seconds off the fastest time of the day- that's less than two fast eye blinks- :eek2::sad::nod: http://www.flickr.com/photos/56458021@N06/6301310367/ |
Next autocross is this sunday Dec 11
Hope to see you there with your MINI |
There still are one or two MINIs at SCCA autocross.
Next event is this sunday from about 730am for walk up registration to drive and about 8-830am for just watching. Lower parking lot Aloha Stadium. I know there will be a Cooper S with race tires in D stock class at least. |
Event 3 in about two weeks on Aug 12.
Still have one MCS in D Stock class - finished first in class and 63rd out of 92 drivers overall |
I saw a new JCW clubman at autocross but the owner arrived too late for walk up registration. We did get the chance to go out at the end of the day for fun runs.
Another event in about one month. |
Well, at this point out of 80 plus cars at autocross each event there are now
Zero MINIs. Too bad there is so little interest. The current "Hot cars" (# of drivers): Subaru BRZ/Scion FRS (3) Subaru WRX Sti (8) Miata (16) Honda S2000 (12) |
The new SCCA autocross season begins with a Test and tune (non competition) day on July 14th at Aloha Stadium lower parking lot.
The course will be set up like a normal autocross but we will have instructors all morning to assist you to drive it. It's a good day to bring out your MINI or even your other car (no cars that have a high center of gravity allowed) to give it a try. No speed limits and you get a time for each run that you can use to improve as the day rolls on. Bring closed shoes, a SNELL rated helmet if you have one, M2000 or later, and drinks and a lunch for yourself or you can go over to the swap meet for food. Hope to see you there. |
In a few weeks we are having an Autocross Test and tune at the Stadium lower parking lot, July 14, sunday.
There is no walk up registration for this event, you must email me and sign up at Motorsportsreg.com on or after July 1. Space is limited so that drivers can get in enough driving time. Instructors are provided in the morning and you can take passengers out in the afternoon aged 13 or older. All persons are required to wear closed shoes and use a SNELL rated helmet, loaner helmets are available first come first served. This is a great time to test your skills on an autocross layout track, drive as fast as you want, just don't knock over a cone and avoid hitting anything. Come out with a friend and see who has more courage. |

Results from Event 5 (CLM) Oct 20, 2013
99 total drivers D stock - 7 drivers 1. Diana C. 49th on raw time, 39th on PAX overall.:nod: 3. Kenlie W. 54th on raw time, 42nd on PAX:thumbsup: 5. John M. 72nd on raw time, 63rd on PAX 7. Charles S. 86th on raw time, 85th on PAX Just for explanation, when PAX finish is lower than raw time finish it means the driver did better with the PAX handicap and moved up in the standings vs other drivers in other classes. When PAX and raw time finish are equal then the driver has done about right for the class. For most Stock and Street Touring classes it's pretty good if you can get 20th overall PAX or better in any event. |

Sweet!
Cheers, Charlie |

As you can see it's an excellent site. To make the trip worth shipping our cars we may combine it as a two day event with an Evolution driving school on the first day.:grin: Charlie, that's a trip worth making. Stay tuned for the dates. It's not a done deal... yet. But I am hopeful. |
