Turbo Heat Shield Recall?
I just got this in my email: This email is to inform you of a Turbo Heat Shield Recall on your 2010 Mini Cooper Clubman.
Is this legit or is this a new "gimmick" to get me to come to the dealership? I called them and they said it "may or may not be a problem but that they wanted to do an inventory" . I live 300 miles away from them and do not look forward to the trip, and besides, my mini is a 2009 Clubman. |
Its here, but last i heard it was not a recall but an update on certain years
, so when the MINI comes in for service they change it. https://www.northamericanmotoring.co...feed-line.html |
Ask the dealer if they will ship you the part since you are 300 miles away.
It is a small clip on shield with some heat shield material attached to it that is plug and play. Takes 30 seconds to clip it onto the turbo oil line pipe. |
The oil line heat shield is a day late and a dollar short, it doesn't stop or fix the true problem, I wouldn't be too concerned with getting the car to them all too soon for it.
