DO YOU CELEBRATE YOUR MINI's ADOPTION (BIRTHDAY)?

January 29, marks the day that I have had my Mini for a full year. And what a year it has been. Joined my very first motoring club, made wonderful new Mini friends, did runs, which made me appreciate my Mini, more and more. As a 58 yr. Young Grandma of 5, this sweet car has reinvented my life!
I plan on getting her something special!

What do you do for your Mini on this special day?!

No, but I've realized I've had mine a year just last week.

I'm mean, put her up for sale, had her two years and I'm getting a new one! :)

:lol:Ha! Not sure who I spoil more, the Grandkids, or Giggles!

I'm actually planning my vacation around her. Attending our first MOTD, this coming May. Soooooo excited!

Yup, sure do. Usually a toast and public acknowledgement. One year we had cake. Just had the 6th one last month. I get some funny looks from my co-workers though.

nabeshin Jan 4, 2012 07:41 PM

I go out on a long drive on it's build date.

PatM Jan 4, 2012 09:09 PM

We don't at all. Though I do keep track of mileage and how long we have owned the car so we can sell or trade them out when they get into the sweet spot.

We name the cars but that is the extent of it.

J - I knew you'd find this thread! Still trying to decide what to do for Giggles. Btw, her eyes are still there! Would LOVE driving lights. I did win. $100 GC at my Mini dealership, so will use that for something fun. Plan on going the sat. before her adoption day to see what they have. Any ideas?

Happy New Year, my friend!!

I celebrate birthdays and give names to things that are alive ONLY!

I think it's funny if you take your dog to the vet and get a prescription that they put the dog's name and the owner's surname together on the prescription bottle (e.g., "Cuddles Smith". I predict some goofy dealership will read these threads and start doing this in their service department. Your service bill might read "Hobbes Maguire, '07 MCS".

Imagine getting that call..."Hello Mr. Johnson, we took a look at Giggles and I'm afraid the news isn't good. She needs a new clutch."

And to answer your question, no, but I gave it a christmas present and a birthday present (both for me, but don't tell the car that...). My MINI has had a spoiled first year. (Bought it 23rd december 2010)

I almost hope not, my MINI's name is Das Stinktier aka "Stinky". I don't want the call telling me that Stinky needs work. . . it would be funny tho.
