Sorry I can't help but I have a question. Does these work with heated mirrors?

Sure, they just won't get as hot...

There has to be some drawback to these, otherwise the factory would have installed them. It's not like they're more expensive than 16 degree field of vision mirrors... :sly:

Really not an issue anyway if you know how to properly adjust your mirrors (Aka you don't see half of your own car in your side mirror).

I have them on both outside mirrors and I love them. Gets rid of that pesky blind spot. With the mirrors, your field of lateral vision is greatly improved.
My husband has them on his car as well, and he says the same thing...
I don't have heated mirrors, so I can't attest to how the bird's eye works with them..

+1
Most people learned how to use their mirrors wrong, seeing the car in the very edge of the outside mirrors. If you adjust so that you don't have overlap from the interior and side mirrors you will not have blind spots.

Ditto that!

I agree that most people set them wrong in most vehicles.

But there are also other considerations... some cars (and cargo vans, etc). have poor to no visibility out the rear, as well as limited view out the passenger side... the MINI convertible pretty much qualifies as one of those due to the small rear window and the much smaller aperture between the rear headrests, as well as the large expanse of fabric on the sides... having mirrors that allow you to see both behind you and to the sides is highly advantageous in such vehicles.

I have two of these mirrors (which are actually Multivex mirrors) and love them... but they take some getting used to. And yes, if you install them correctly, the heaters still work.

Blimey, you're doing the BRP run in June, correct? I'd like to check out the mirrors. I'm hooking up in Roanoke.

Yep - I'll be there - you'll have plenty of chances to give 'em a try. :)

Another option:
$2-$3 for a pack of two at your local autoparts store.

I used to have the $3 round ones like above and have tried out the "proper" adjustment method for the standard mirrors.

I now have these $20 MaxiView ones. They give an excellent, large adjustable view of the blindspot. It does take up a lot of mirror real esate, though, but the upper inner view of the standard mirror it blocks is usually not essential. Also, it's beauty is dependent on the eye of the beholder for sure. That being said, I really like them.

Here's a video I caught on my dashcam today of someone that definitely needs some blindspot intervention.

The UK spec MINIs I've driven have something like that, one of the mirrors (driver's I think) is split in two and the parts are at slightly different angles. I thought the mirror had a crack the first time I saw that.
