ADAC (the German version of AAA) has a report in their latest magazine, listing the number of breakdowns per 1000 cars within the last year (i.e.: for every 1000 2002 Mini's, 12.3 of them broke down in 2006).
In the small car class, Audi's A2 places first, with Mini right behind.
The results:
2002 - 12.3
2003 - 7.7
2004 - 4.9
2005 - 2.6
2006 - 2.0
While I'm sure the numbers are slightly skewed, due to volume; I was very surprised to see Mini rank so high. It beat cars such as the Toyota Yaris, Honda Jazz, Mazda 2, and 20 other small cars of European make.
