Better Qi charger for under armrest area?

I'm thinking of trying this out for my iPhoneX, and am thinking about putting it under the armrest.

Qi Charger Qi Charger

My reasons are twofold:
1) easier to remember to grab
2) the stock Qi charger is barely worthwhile using

The stock Qi charger cannot keep up with the phone's use, and securing it evenly in the mechanism requires attention, and it gets very hot, and it's too easy to forget.

The unit above seems as though it'd fit perfectly in the available space.

My only hesitation, is that the one in the cradle, I THINK, also enhances the phone's reception, but I'm not 100% certain of this.

What do you guys think?

I like where you're going with this. I do like the factory cradle which holds the phone in-place. I don't know whether or not it enhances the phones' reception though. I'm curious to see if you decide to pull the trigger, what works for you.

I just got it yesterday. The Qi pad is a perfect fit. The cord is integrated and extremely thin. I ran it through the armrest hinge area, to the rear 12V port. I took up all the slack, and the cord is completely out of the way. I got a Qualcomm 3.0-rated single USB charger by Anker, which should enable Fast Charging for my iPhone X. There's so little room for play at the bottom of the storage well, I think the phone will likely stay nearly exactly aligned with the pad, so it should work every time the phone is placed on it.

I only got it last night, so today I should be able to determine if my scheme results in noticeably faster charging. I will report back.

Still testing, but here's what I've got. Pad is a perfect fit, but needed the orange bumpers to ensure perfect phone alignment every time. Crucially, I used a Qualcomm 3.0-rated 12V charger, to enable iPhone Fast Charging.

SEEMS to work, as planned, but still testing it, to see how rapidly it's recharging. It must be significantly faster than armrest charger, though, or it's not worthwhile.

Hard to take pic of phone in-situ, for obvious reasons.
