The forge unit is for the Gen 3 MINIs F56+ :)

Do you folks know where to find instructions on how to replace the shift knob and shaft on F56 JCW? The cravenspeed site doesn't seem to have the JCW setup. I'll post this question elsewhere too if your not familiar.

I dont think you can separate the stock shaft. ...... can you?

The knob is easy, just pull like a m'fer and dont crack yourself in the face

Or the sunroof. It has been known to happen.

I'm probably going to take the Forge arm out. I find it's just too difficult to get in gear when combined with the Craven. I have it at only about 10% now, and have to lengthen the Craven to get a smooth-feeling action. Maybe personal preference, but that's me.

But- I found a great fix for my broken shifter cable bushing!

$40, and they are on Amazon too. Install isn't the easiest, as it has to be done in the car. I did it by setting a 2x4 on the stack of components and whacking it with a 5# sledge. But later realized that a C-clamp would probably do the job with a lot more control. Sandwich everything between a couple pieces of wood and crank the clamp tight. Pretty sure it would work.

Anyway, the really nice thing is that these bushings are super tight. Unlike the stock system, they remove ALL slop. I went ahead and installed the 2nd one on the side-side arm, although mine wasn't broken. Used a flathead screwdriver to snap off the flange of the old bushing to get it out. Side-side play in my shift knob went from about 10mm down to 3mm.

Really nice feeling shifts now =)

Well, today I took the forge shift lever out and went back to stock. Still have the excellent Cravenspeed shifter though. I’m so glad, my shifts are back to feeling smooth! With the Forge, things were notchy, and difficult to get into gear sometimes. Even with the throw adjusted to near stock. I raised the cravenspeed to get throws actually longer than I was using before, but still it wasn’t a good experience. So, my opinion... avoid Forge and get Cravenspeed!

I’ll sell anybody my Forge that wants it though ;)
