I have searched eBay to see how much I would need to pay and came to a conclusion that adding paddle shifters were not important and worth for me.
Here are couple of steering wheels with paddle shifters:

Thanks. For me it's totally worth it. So appreciate the help here.

Hey Guys!

I really wanted this mod too and went ahead and went for it. Bough the JCW wheel off eBay for $257. Nothing extra was necessary, which was the best part :)

Hardest part was definitely removing the airbag, but once that was off everything went smoothly.

As for coding, the only coding that is necessary is:

1) BDC_BODY -> PADDLES_VERBAULT (set to "aktiv" - default "nicht_aktiv")
2) EGS -> Sport T/M (set to "enabled" - default "disabled")

This enables, 2TB transmission and the paddles.
(Final result on the left!)

Hi,

I see that you mentioned: 1) BDC_BODY... and 2) EGS... items. What about replacing 205 with 2TB in the Salapa Element? What about KOMBI module?

That is the way to add sport transmission 2TB in Salapa. Not sure if just doing EGS is enough.
Kombi I don’t think should matter.

Soon I will get the cable and explore. BDC_Body possibly has paddle shifters settings but for my car, it doesn't apply. Oh and Launch control is possibly in EGS

I’m new to e-sys, can anyone guide me along with this? I don’t see BDC_BODY > Paddles_verbally and egs > Sport

I think I’m going to tackle this next. If I see a wheel on eBay that has the paddles already in the back, do I need to pick up anything else for it? Any other wiring or harness? This will be for an f54

Can anyone help? I checked the back of my JCW steering wheel today (F56) and it has two torx screws on each side but the back of it does not suggest that paddles can be fitted to it - it seems too smooth. Are there versions of the JCW steering wheel which came with the interior package but not paddles that is not compatible with the retrofit? I really want to retrofit paddles on my JCW steering wheel.

You’ll need the right wheel.

There's no way to just replace those back plastic trims?
