This was a special edition, though they do add/delete colors every so often, but no guarantee on this being one of them

I thought I read only 250 were made. All come with the same configuration with Satellite Grey interior. One feature that was missing that I thought was weird was the lack of driving modes! Fortunately, since it’s my mom’s car she won’t really miss them. It does have all the big features like nav, comfort access, HK, heated front seats, etc.

Are you sure about this? I know that Mini moved the driving modes from the ring around the shifter to a toggle switch in the console area....

Yup. Seems like such a weird choice to forego.

Finally got stripes and tint installed on my wife's Clubman last week. Stripes are a dark silver metallic, which should look good with her summer wheels.

It also forgoes the sport automatic transmission with paddle shifters right? Another strange omission since it is now standard on all 'S' and JCW models with automatic transmission.

Correct. JCW steaming wheel is replace with the MINI Yours to match the interior (satellite grey stitching).

Nice! I've been thinking of those same stripes. I like that you removed the "CLUBMAN" logo from the back. I guess you need to do that in order to install the rear stripes. However, the side stripe goes around the All4 emblem. Was the side stripe pre-cut to go around the All4 or did you cut it out? (same with the front MINI emblem??) Also, where did you buy the stripes?

Evlkarl 01-23-2019 04:55 PM

The Starlight
Edition did not come with the driving settings. Why Mini dropped them I do not know but I sure would like to find out.

What brand and dimensions are your black exhaust tips. Were they a direct swap?
JD them black tips came from my local Muffler Shop and they are Magna Flow Tips the diameter on the end is a tap over 3 inches to connect to the factory pipe. My Guy cut the box//suitcase out in the back and he just made a Y for it and welded the tips on the whole set up was a little over $ 200.00.

I got the stripes done at Tint and Trim Factory in Albuquerque. The installer did all the work (though I had already removed the Clubman lettering off the rear) and he did a really good job working around the hood emblem and All4 badges. I showed him some pictures of what I had in mind and he did all the rest.

Is that a "Big Pair" by Cravenspeed installed? If so, how do you like them? Do you notice a difference?

Yes they are. I feel they make a big difference on corners, and on and off ramps. They were so easy to put on, my garage didn’t even charge me. So, I just gave the mechanic a $20 tip

Mini nurse 03-23-2019 12:01 PM

Can you post how the exhaust sounds (cold start, full throttle, etc)?

Evlkarl 03-23-2019 01:49 PM

JD you did what I did when I got my Clubman my local Muffler Guru removed the suitcase and welded his heart out except I went with black tips all that for $ 200.00.:lol:

Exhaust

WOW.... that's a great price! I was charged $800 and I thought that was a goog price. Between all the stainless 2.5 and 3" price, plus a Race bullet muffler. At startup it's loud till the idle dies down. Around town, on the throttle, its LOUD and ANGY, Now...I have the 8 speed automatic (I can't drive a manual because i almost lost my left foot in the line of duty Law Enforcement in 05, and then had my right leg amputated and re attached in 2011 in an accident. I have very little use of left leg and didn't want hand controls. So I learned to drive with my left foot on brake and right foot on gas. I use a Pedal Commander to adjust the sensitivity of the throttle very sensitive so it doesn't take much movement of my right foot to accelerate). On the highway between 60-80, I'm under 2000rpm, and you can barely here it. Plus...I have an open K&N typhoon intake, and Forge hard pipes that remove the plastic intake muffler (all heat shielded to avoid heat sink) So...it roars from both ends and burples and pops. Add in a DINAN ELITE TUNER and MAD CUSTOMS transmission tuner, the intake, exhaust, transmission tuner, pedal commander, exhaust w/o 2nd cat; and it can MOVE and ROAR! I left in the resonator to avoid interior drone and tuned out the fake Active Sound Design, have the HK premium entertainment system with BAVSOUND Woofers under the seat; and it is pleasant at highway speeds. I will try to get sound clips, but trust me, it's a LOUD little wagon when it wants to be.

I put the black tips and had the suitcase removed on all of my Mini,s the 3 Banger MCS and the Clubby love the deep crowl and in Sport Mode it Bangs nicely. The Clubby has a 3 in. pipe from the front to the rear so my Muffler man just cut the rear can out run a 3 in pipe and the y to the tips.

I have to agree the car feels better and seem happy on the throttle when you floor it. I also got the 8 speed. I also run a VIP Intake and have a set of wires laying in the Garage to increase the HP a little I will install them after my Service is done.
