Quote: Change the date to May of next year and it comes out to $119 per night average. What gives? Must be busy that time of year, so they can charge more...
Actually the local rate jumps up to $144 during the weekend that we're there...and that's still prior to the peak of the tourist season. Makes the $89 we're getting seem like a pretty good deal.

Have you ever been to the Black Hills in early/late summer? The place overflows with tourists. The weekend of the R4TH2 is almost perfect timing as it comes a bit before the mad rush, meaning that one can enjoy the local sights without the crowds (and the heavenly lack of traffic on the fantastic twisties).

Priceline rates are great if you can get them and don't mind the occasional room with no view or adjacent to the elevators/ice machine...

We have been out there a few times and not only do the hotel rates jump but their sales tax rate goes up 1% also!

Is anyone else having trouble with this Wordpress site?
I've got a username & a password but I can't get into the HPMS forum.
I opted out of the BLOG name and just signed up for username. Was that my mistake?
I went back to redo it and it wants $13 for the BLOG or is it just tricking me.
Someone please help.

Thanks.

Make sure you use the invitation link that was included in Rick's original email that I forwarded to everyone (I can send it again if you need it).

Keep in mind that your personal blog associated with your account is totally separate from the HPMS blog site.

I did the username signup too and had no problems.

I've had problems, too. I had Rick send me the invitation twice, and he says he has but nothing comes thru on my e-mail. I signed up on Wordpress but can't access the HPMS site either. I just gave up and hope Gary will keep us informed. We did get reservations at the hotel so all is good.

There has got to be a better way to post information about the HPMS. Wordpress is the second site that has caused trouble. All this cloak and dagger stuff about "not everyone is invited" has caused too much trouble.

Cool. I edited Post #23 so we can keep track.

It will be 40 degrees warmer in Rapid City than it will be here on Monday. Just sayin'.

We are going to have a serious 'train' of MINIs on the road to adventure.
Let's try & keep in mind synchronized driving techiniques. Like fighter planes peeling off for an attack on the enemy.

I had s discrepancy with my hotel confirmation. It did not show the $89 dollar rate. I called they confirmed the rate but with taxes it turns out to be $103 a night...Ouch!!

Seems like a great time of the year to see South Dakota so...Di and I are in.
It will be a good run for the Countryman.

Sweet! Yep, the Countryman will be the perfect safari vehicle in CSP.

I think that makes 10 MINIs and 17 folks from the Iowa contingent who've thrown their hat in the ring.

We're going to look for trouble and I don't think you'll want to be kept out of it!
