A big round of applause to Gary for the fabulous presentation!!
I couldn't have done it better myself.
It'll be me +2 this time round. See ya soon!

Smokin' Jo 07-05-2010 12:24 PM

I have a nice run planned out for the drive to Dubuque. If interested PM me for details.

Smokin' Jo 07-05-2010 10:13 PM

The 1st stop on the way is the American Pickers shop in LeClaire, IA. Quick photo op in the early morning. Who knows..maybe they might be there and decide to tag along...if they're not picking anything.

I think that the Bricktown and the Blackwater Grill are closed. But it sounds like a good time. I can finally meet the peaple that I have been lurking around. Faith and I will be there.

Yeah, you're absolutely right...Smokin' Jo is deciding on an alternative establishment and once he does I'll make sure it gets advertised. 05MINI PM'ed us with a really good suggestion, so stay tuned for more info. Appreciate your keeping us honest.

It will be wonderful to see you there!

Gil-galad 07-07-2010 03:03 PM

The revised 5:00 pm dinner location is the Town Clock Inn at 799 Main Street. Here's a link to the restaurant site:

Updated PDF route map with this new info is now available on Post #1. :)

"IF" I ever get REDMINI back from repairs...:impatient: So far all the body work is done. Now waiting for a new passenger seat because the air bag sensor is throwing a fault.

Our condolences to "Leo" and his accident. Daryl, we hope all goes well getting him fixed.

Gil-galad 07-11-2010 09:38 AM

Larry, we enjoy your and Pam's company so much that we'll even let you bring the Impala on the ferry with us :eek2: -- if it actually ends up coming to that.
Not sure how it will do in the twisties though... http://www.motoringalliance.com/foru...ilies/idea.gif

lapshoffman 07-11-2010 10:38 AM

I guess the Impala would be better than bringing Pam's Dodge Caravan.

Or, would it? :confused::sad:

Let's just hope REDMINI is back before then!

Smokin' Jo 07-12-2010 06:59 PM

Hey all,
I just wanted an actual head count for the people enrolled in this event.
Please chime in with your # so I can give a heads up to the eateries we'll be visiting. My total is 4.
Thanks,
D.

We hope REDMINI recovers in time to make an appearance

David, put us down for 2

Gil-galad 07-13-2010 06:24 AM

Just one here. You know how differently Jan and I enjoy the twisties... http://www.gangsterbb.net/emoticons/clap.gifhttp://www.gangsterbb.net/emoticons/barf.gif

I suspect that more sign-ups and head counts will trickle in as we get closer to the date (some won't know if they're free until the week prior). At least we're getting close to the point of performing some innovative taxing of the ferry capacity.

densan57 07-13-2010 06:37 AM

We are planning to be there. That's 2 more.

05MINI 07-13-2010 07:02 AM

2 for us!

lapshoffman 07-13-2010 07:10 AM

Put us down for 2. We're counting on REDMINI being done.

Ravenwing 07-13-2010 01:30 PM

Two for Faith and I.
Tom

Oh no!

MariaChick 07-23-2010 12:32 PM

We can always keep going north till we get to a bridge then back track back to that area and find all the closed roads:confused:

05MINI 07-23-2010 12:43 PM

We could follow the Great River Road to Marquette and cross the bridge to Prairie Du Chien. I never looked at our planned route but would guess we could reconnect to it from there. (I don't need no maps-I just follow the boot in front of me.:))

MariaChick 07-23-2010 01:07 PM

Hell yah just need some driveing time makes me happy:thumbsup:

DITTO!!!
I need to get out and drive!

D3m0N 07-23-2010 02:06 PM

is that the bridge that just got hit by the barge?

Ravenwing 07-23-2010 02:47 PM

The bridge that got hit is at Lansing, the next bridge up.

lapshoffman 07-23-2010 04:49 PM

We could cross at Dubuque too, then GPS to Cassville and pick up the route from there. Bummer on the Ferry, we'll have to try that again.:sad::confused::razz:

Gil-galad 07-23-2010 05:29 PM

Hey all, just got off the phone with Smokin' Jo. Unless anyone has strong objections we're proposing a morning route up C-9Y (a fun road) to Marquette and down WI-133 (another fun road) on the Wisconsin side for the morning portion of the route. Here's a link to the proposed route:

http://maps.google.com/maps/ms?hl=en...,1.223602&z=10

The whole enchilada is about 30 minutes longer than previously planned, so if we're all in Dubuque by 9:45 am we will probably try to depart a bit early. That will get us into Potosi for lunch about 12:15 pm. We'll probably want to work in a potty stop in the Marquette/PDC area too.

The afternoon remains as per the previously advertised route.

Of course, this is contingent upon US-52 being open north of Dubuque tomorrow. We'll know for sure in the morning (as that's the way I'm planning on coming into town). If it's not, we'll adjust accordingly.

Give us a holler if you'd rather see something different.

Ravenwing 07-23-2010 06:26 PM

Faith and I will have to bow out as we have some basement water problems. I hate to do this as this is the second time that I have done this. Have a good time and we will make it next time.
