Single Outlet Cooper S Exhaust

Well as I always strive to be different I thought I would try something new on a Cooper S. After looking at many exhausts and many configuarations i settled on this set up.

First: My Cooper S with stock exhaust.

That should confuse some people
Nice look too.

S Curvz 04-11-2007 01:04 PM

How does it sound? and you need to take the S off the badge. :P

Very nice Doug. I like the wheels too. Seems as though some things have changed since I was last under your car. I see some pretty blue control arms there.

The JCW we swapped is humming right along.

vdubdoug 04-11-2007 02:21 PM

it sounds great. it has a nice tone below 3k and an awesome woosh above that when you floor it. I took it for a 5 minute ride on the highway and it produced no drone at 70 mph.

Chuck,
Allot has changed since you last saw my car. Mainly lowering springs, control arms, 17% pulley, Giac software, and 380cc injectors in Cooper package :)

Crashton 04-11-2007 02:33 PM

Very nice, I like the stealth look. They'll never know what hit them.

I noticed you swapped out the side repeaters and S grilles for the Cooper ones too. LOL...

Can't hide the front hood scoop too easily though (at least not without affecting performance).

You lookin to go SVT hunting? Sneaky, Doug...very sneaky. Nice job, too!

myzamboni 04-11-2007 03:25 PM

So is this the Mymini or Alta with some modification?

Does the Cooper bumper trim not fit on the MCS bumper? Been thinking of doing this. Now I just need to figure out what kind of exhaust...

CooperSKart 04-11-2007 05:25 PM

That's pretty slick! How does it sound?

CooperDrew 04-11-2007 07:19 PM

Dude it looks like a factory fit! Very nice work! Totally YOU-NIQUE. Keep it up:thumbsup:

vdubdoug 04-11-2007 07:38 PM

The exaust sytem is from ALTA. I just had a local shop weld up some pipe and the tip to exit in the factory Cooper location.

The cooper rear valance will fit Cooper S bumper but it is not as deep as a cooper s valance. so it might not look as factory. i will be mounting my new cooper bumper (in place of my S bumper) up front tomorrow.

The sound is great. a nice burple at low rpms and an awesome wooosh at high rps under full throttle. i will try to get a clip and post it up if i can figure out how.

Ryephile 04-11-2007 07:43 PM

You can mount the 3 black plastic Cooper trim pieces to the S bumper. I did it when I fabricated a single sided "Cooper-esque" tuned cat-back for Wraith1416's MCS.

myzamboni 04-11-2007 08:14 PM

Cool. Now you need to get some Holies or 5-spokes for the Justa look:thumbsup:

I just put Holies on my MCS. The steering is lighter and the 'tossability' of the car has increased.
