We are organizing a FL pulley installation weekend to include track time in the West Palm Beach area (Moroso). I would like to get responses from folks who may be interested in participating (the track time would be optional of course).

We are looking at some time in May, so let me know what dates would work.

The install runs $400 to include the pulley. I am starting to use a new pulley design as well that is slightly better.

Hope to see all of my East Coast buds soon!

Cool, Randy!! Maybe you should post this in the FL forum, also. Keep us informed of plans...we'll be there in force!!

RandyBMC 04-19-2003 09:42 AM

It's posted there - great suggestion.

I need to know dates though, what works for you guys?

2minis 04-19-2003 09:46 AM

Randy,
Nobull is in. 1st, 2nd and third....the Dragon in NC....
Anytime other than that and I'm there. The 17th
I am supposed to go up to Road Atlanta but I could
bag that.

RonR 04-19-2003 09:46 AM

Greetings Randy !!
You are welcome to Florida anytime, especially the W. Palm Beach area. I'm just north in Stuart. I am sure that you will have the FL MINIs lined up for this one!!!! How about the middle of May ??? I am leaving for North Carolina on May 23rd. At $400.00 I can't pass up the pulley conversion!! I am really looking forward to a little more bottom end torque.
Let me know when you will be in town and I would be happy to volunteer some organizational help - and document the event with some professional quality digital photography. (Former USAF photog  !!
Best Regards,
Ron

OK, it looks like it is for sure. I already have four lined up. I'll be doing it in May, and the weekend of the 17th is what I have tentatively scheduled. How does that work?

We still need to check the track availability. If you guys could post your interest too - pulley install only, track day only, or both.

Thanks!

Randy

Wesport 04-19-2003 09:51 AM

Sign me up the weekend of the 24th. I can (and will) do the other weekends also, but that one looks best for me.
Wes

I'll let you know what I find out about
jacks and tools....
Michael

Wesport 04-19-2003 10:01 AM

OK 17th it is. Track day - yes, pulley, maybe Alta air box, and Mini rear bar. Are you doing other than pulleys?
Wes

2minis 04-19-2003 10:39 AM

Yeah. Any thing other than pulleys?? hehehehehe
Springs maybe???

Minibeast 04-19-2003 11:15 AM

Anytime after the 6th and I'm in! Posting here since the other was locked down!

RandyBMC 04-19-2003 11:34 AM

I could do the other stuff, but it is VERY helpful to have a compressor and air tools. The problem is, the more stuff I agree to do, the more I have to ship down for tools, and it starts getting pricey.

We could do a swaybar and springs, heck we could do just about anything, but the cost of doing it without air and the shipping of the tools would be more than if I did it here at the shop in Denver. As this gets organized, I may be able to do things with other tools that have been secured down there.

Let me know what you're interested in having done so I know what I need to bring.

RonR 04-19-2003 11:59 AM

Randy,
Reviewing your pulley install Methold 2, I see that the air box must be removed. I assume its a no brainer to do the airbox modification during the pulley R & R ??
Thanks,
Ron

Ah poo. I'm missing out on all the good stuff (group sway bar purchase and now a fl pulley meet thing) since I dont have my S yet. But that's amazing, a shop owner going half way across the country to install parts and do a track day!

I used to live in Jupiter, Fl about 30 minutes away from West Palm, then I moved back up north to Orange Park. Oh well at least when I can order my S then I can just drive over to Tom Bush.

RandyBMC 04-19-2003 01:38 PM

You can easily do the airbox mod, do you have the intake yet? You will have to have an aftermarket intake for it to really make any improvement. If you do the ALTA, it already removes the partition.

OK, if you want that done, I ned to bring the hole saw and drill too. Anyone have a big rig??

RonR 04-19-2003 05:54 PM

Randy,
I'll bring an 18 volt Ryobi - its got the power. This cordless gem can twist the heads off from 1/4" Tapcons  !! Let us know what you need !!
Best Regards,
Ron
