Dyno Fun!!

Installed head, cam, and SAFC on my 05 MCS that already has a 15% pulley, intake, and exhaust....

Previous best with out head and cam was:

186 WHP 157 Ft lbs

so this time with a TEMP of 90 degrees and the head, cam, and SAFC:

then in a nitrous rich atmosphere. there was no system mounted to the Mini...
I know the A/F give a new meaning to ragged edge!

in case it's hard to read the #s are:

207 WHP 173 ft lbs

and

300 WHP 244 ft lbs

You've lost me as well motorsports3... I'm having trouble understanding what you mean by "nitrous rich atmosphere"...

You are correct. I went the ghetto method. Was well aware of what could have happened but wanted to see what it could do. For what it is worth the car also made 225 only spraying the intercooler. That is what lead to spraying around the intake as well. This time I was fortunate and didn't give myself a reason to build the motor.

Nitrous is an oxidizer, not a fuel. It will not explode. However, I can't imagine that making 300 whp with standard fuel injectors was any good for the motor

Nitros breaks down into N2 and O2 when heated - 02 will explode - although I doubt the engine compartment gets hot enough for this to happen.

O2 will explode? You mean if you fill a sterile chamber with pure O2 and a heat source with no other source of fuel, the oxygen will burn all by itself? Didn't know that...

I left out that I do have the JCW injectors, but either way the motor wasn't getting enough fuel.

Kids at home please note, "explode" is different from "burn" by the rate of reaction. It EXPLODES if in the correct concentration, rather than burn .

O2 is not flammable or explodeable.

Fire is fuel+O2, so while not being "flammable" it is one have of that equation. Its what makes flammable posiible.

Take some vaseline a pour O2 over it and see what happens.
