Improper Exhaust

Maybe search around ebay and see what you find. $100 isn't much of a budget for buying a brand. You could do a muffler delete and see how you like it. This video might help with getting an idea of the sound:

Found this thread on NAM, but pictures aren't there anymore. Can always cruise around amazon or ebay and see what tips are for sale too. Good luck! Let us know what you end up doing. :)

Eh...100 buck for an exhaust is Honda money, even for a muffler only. One ball mod is an option for that budget. eBay exhaust won't last at all, don't bother.

Yea, you could one ball the Cooper S exhaust, if you want a change and low cost.

That thread linked above is a Cooper S Gen 2 , which sounds way different then a Gen 1 Supercharged.

If you want the best exhaust for the R53 it has to be Milltek.

best exhaust for the Supercharged Engine. No drone, nice pop and burple and looks really nice. Milltek has been doing it right for MINI since the early days. 2002+ Go for the non res if you want in louder. All in stock ready to ship.

I would recommend waiting and saving for an exhaust that'll sound great and fit well vs. trying to cobble together a cheap one. You'll get a longer life and more enjoyment out of it.

the ebay flanged setup is twice your target, not sure if it's loud enough for you either and the next stage up is another doubling in price

there's a thread on the ebay flanged setup, install was ez as documented in the thread, there's sound clips too

$100 for a lot of noise? hacksaw and blade. remove as much needed, take the spare cash and bring to a pipe shop and have them exit it

theres no "system" for that money. for a $100 you could get 2 magnaflow/flowmaster mufflers....

could even get two glass packs....
