I spoke with Jan on Friday and we are working on getting a tuning day or two in Norwich, CT at Swift Motosports in late March or early April. I will post more when the date is set. The prices will be:

R53: $350
R56: $600
Dyno: $100

Sounds like great news. It's good to hear that the tuning only got better and burble is a good thing!

scottab36 10-26-2009 05:29 AM

Also With taking to Jan , he has found a lot of different maps and continually discovers more cool things to tweak with the ECU. I know of one slot for sure that is taken for the Norwich, CT tuning day early next year.

So did anyone ever ever find out anything about an upgrade policy? I really want this tune, but I would be pissed if I already had it, and then this new version is out with burbles and all. To pay full price again would be out of the question, and I'm sure that wouldn't even be suggested. But I wondered if anything had been solidified.

I drove from NC to FL. just to have exhaust depot install their downpipe and exhaust and the next weekend drove to Kentucky to have Jan tune the car... 7 hour drive, 2 hour tune, 7 hour return trip.

Well worth it.

He has a ported/polished head though, so that prob explains the high numbers:nod:

ahh, wow that must be one crazy ride... wonder how much it costs to get a port/polished head... looks like that gave him an extra 10 hp at least

Stig One 10-26-2009 05:05 PM

A high quality extrued honing ,gasket match porting and polishing, combustion chamber blueprint plus polish, enlarged multi angle valves and seats , high performance valve springs plus retainers and high temp coating for combustion chambers , valves and exhaust ports will run $3000 to $4000

I'm not sure how much he paid for the head but Jan produced about the same numbers on my JCW with no head. No offense to Masterd but that's a ton of money for an extra 6 lbs of torque and whp.

And once Jan gets some time, he wanted to spend a bit more time because he thought there was some HP/tq left on the table. I'm just waiting for him to get in our area.

WOW, I missed that..... that's a HUGE difference.

On another note, when you coming to NC. You mentioned you wanted to spend a bit more time on the dyno with my car.
