Driving Jan's GP with the 2.0L stroker motor - impressions

I was at Danny's (Mini Corsa) yesterday having 440cc injectors and RMW's new cam put in my "new" MCS (the ex SpiderX car), and he also had to put in a new O2 sensor because of a CEL.

Jan came by with his GP late in the day and he was trying to trace down a leak in the new water-to-air Laminova system, which is an amazing looking system by the way. He threw me the keys to the GP and said "Take it for a spin, don't go over 6000 RPM." OK, you don't have to ask me twice!!

Well, he did not warn me about that clutch!! He has the Stage 4 Clutchmasters 4 puck model and it is basically an on-off switch!! Once I got out of the parking lot without stalling it, I took it for a "long" trip around the block - well OK several blocks - around Danny's shop in Van Nuys.

OMFG!! :eek2: This motor (and the rest of the car too) is fricking amazing!! The torque is instantaneous, unlike any other car I have ever driven. And it just keeps pulling like a mother up to 6K and ahem a bit more!! What a ride!!

When I got back from my ride, Jan said that the tune is still not done on this car either. Numbers?? You won't care too much about numbers when you drive this one!! Jan is going to put some race rubber on it and get it out to Big Willow and SOWS soon and also get some drag slicks working with it and get it to the strip. Stay tuned!!

With the stock GP IC he was putting down 262 whp and 232 lb-ft of torque . Laminova should be even higher. It runs so little boost that the IAT's barely go up, even on a stock IC.

Glad you enjoyed it!

actually I was at Danny's for a torn boot on my steering rack

I do however have a leak on my supercharger pipe from the Throttle body that I need fixed

Can't wait to get it re-tuned with the Laminova on it:thumbsup:

Correct me if I'm wrong, Jan, but with a 19% pulley on the M45 it only makes 10.5 *PSI, right? Now, I wonder what would happen if you used a new blower...

*Was a long night... heh

newbs49 May 24, 2008 10:01 AM

Just think if it runs too coooool. I see PISTONS with a little higher number on them. Oh! I forgot you still have the 45 on it.
Did you get my email.
