Summit Point will be interesting. One day school on Friday and then races on Saturday and Sunday in conjunction with the Brian Redman event. School on the Shenandoah circuit. It is fun and very technical. Races on the Summit circuit, bigger and faster. I would like to make it back there but not sure. MME chores will likely have me too busy to make the trek.
. . . a little update if you hadn't noticed on Phil's site. The Summit Pt. DA is now on Sat. 5/19 and will be held on the smallest of the three circuits, the Jefferson. I'm kind of bummed as I was really looking forward to returning to the joys and challenge of the Shenandoah Circuit. In an email Phil said they'd had comments from some of last year's participants who did not like the walls lining the track and also with races going on that weekend they may be using part of the Shenandoah. Has anyone out there driven both of these circuits and how does the Jefferson compare?
Just from observation, the Jefferson seems rather rudimentary - flat, short and pretty straightforward.

I'll be there!
I just signed up for Summit Point. Don't know where I'm staying yet. It's my first time at something like this so now to search the forums for advice on what to bring (sunscreen, cooler etc.) and what not to bring (bowling ball, box of drywall screws etc.)
One or Two Days?
I'm a new owner of an R56 in the L.A. area and want to take in the Fontana session in July. If I only do one day of the driving school, would you suggest Sat. or Sun.? Also, it coincides with the North American MINI Cooper Championship Race Series. How does that work? Do they squeeze our class and track sessions in-between the races? Will I be able to watch the races?
