Favorite tires to drive to the track, on it, then home?

) Perhaps I should rethink everything and go with the Toyo RA1's instead.NHIS comment. The track is rough on tires to begin with. At the end of a day you have a lot of track "goobers" (other people's rubber) on your tires. I have pulled out more than a handful from the wheel wells on my P-car too. amazing.

Sorry brain fade...it was on the Racer / DE forum. Can't remember the thread name
. But if you can remember the original posters name (from last year) you should be able to find it that way. It wasa very short mention and a quick surrender. funny.

I was instructing for the White Mountain Chapter driving school at NHIS yesterday, it wasn't open track. There was an open track last Thursday but I was still running Nokian Hakkas which would have both been no fun and expensive as hell (I need 17" snows to clear the brake system).
I had no real experience with these in between tires that aren't really a street tire by normal standards but which really aren't true "R" compound DOT track tires. I say this because the 615 tires might well be greatly improved but compared to an 05 Hoosier they go away when heated.
The weather was great with the rain stopping just before I left the hotel to head to the track and there were LOTS of Minis. I think there were about 8 of them and three of us shared a single garage bay at NHIS where two cars usually go.
