Forgot to mention, this is with SCDA and they are running the full 4 mile course.
Yeah.....I had this day booked since earlier this year but just recently canceled it and swaped it with an LRP day with SCDA. THEN I find out they were running the full course!! Intially it was just going to be the south course and I ran that with EMRA last month, and wasn't that impressed that I would choose it over LRP as LRP is a better track for a MINI. The longer straights at the Monticello full course won't be MINI friendly..
..South course isn't bad for it tho.
My first time at Monticello at the big track so it should be interesting. I did some driving at the short autoX course there last year. Ian told me that the straight is over 1.5 miles so I will get my left hand ready for point byes. At least I may get to see what the Mini's top speed would be.
I have quite a few days at LRP already so I wanted something different.
Should be a great day for you , Slinger. Just think, that 1.5 mile straight is as long as the entire track at Lime Rock!
S-Driver, you may not need to wait til next year. I'll probably be there on September 18th with PDA. I'll try to find out if they will be running the long course.

I took a look at the course map and the full 4 mile course looks challenging. I am thinking of having an instructor at least for the first run. Since it is quite new, many of my friends have not been there, so I am not getting much in terms of driving tips.
Have fun with PDA September 18 and Oct 4-5. When did you start running with the Gen Ys?
S-Driver, I hope to be meeting you at LRP August 10.

Thank for the tips.
Not to be a kill joy, but....no way that back straight is 1.5 miles long. I went and checked the website for the club and found out that the total length for all straights is 1.5 miles long. Still....that back staright will be fun as there is elevation change.

Interesting Mike.....I'm on vaca that week! I'm doing NJMP with SCDA earlier that week...

Seems interesting that a 4 mile track has 2.5 miles of corners. I guess it is just the way you look at what is a corner and a straight.
I do not really know as I have not been on the track. Only know what they tell me but after July 31, I will have some first hand experience.

I think I may do NJMP with SCDA as well. I am not yet signed up for it. I will wait a little to see how the car is doing. It is starting to be in need of some maintenance.
S-Driver, what group do you run in. Maybe it is possible for us to do some lead follows. Veggivet and I did some at LRP with Halifax and it was a lot of fun.

Intr 2, which I believe Veggivet is also in. Would be cool to do a three way! hahaha..lol - not...
I'm not signed up yet. I am going to see how 7/31 goes. I notice that the 8/10 LRP is open to Novice and Advanced. Why would they do that? Does that mean Intermediates can't sign up?

Not sure what that means. But so far, 5 Minis have signed up, at least 3 of us are inter 2.
The daily schedule looks like a normal full day with all 5 run groups.
