Yes of course please submit more than one name. We're off to a great start everyone. I think I should adjust the rules---seems like we will have lots of name choices---how about I narrow it down to a number, say 5 or 10 names , and then we vote on it and choose the top 3 from there?

To help inspire you, this is what the "OctaneGuy's Special Sauce" does to faded plastic. It's shiny here because it's still wet. It became matte after a few minutes and a final wipe down.

https://www.northamericanmotoring.co...1&d=1169071078

There are no dyes in it. The gel is transparent.

I will post pictures of it hopefully today after I photograph the product---not in the final packaging yet. But once again, I've tried to be different from the rest of the products. It looks HOT, smells wonderful, and goes on soooo smooth, it's good enough for your skin. It's the wonderful advantage of having your own lab at your disposal with someone that actually knows what they are doing at the helm!

Does it only work to restore black plastic or does it work with other colors/do anything else?

OctaneGuy Feb 19, 2007 07:58 AM

Excellent question!
It will restore whatever original color the plastic was. There is nothing specific in the formula that only works with black plastic.

Does it do anything else??

1.)Restores
2.)Protects for 30 days or longer
3.)Protects from UVb
4.)Cleans wax/other contaminants on the trim

Most importantly, it's a product that makes our arch trims and side skirts look great with minimal maintenance even under constant rain/sun exposure.

Cool - I wanted to be sure of what it did and if it was only a 'forever black' type product before thinking about the name. So it pretty much intended to be used on hard external plastics, not other materials (like rubber), or as a pomade? :)

TulsaMINI Feb 19, 2007 08:18 AM

One more from me...

TrimFX

OctaneGuy Feb 19, 2007 08:23 AM

Yep, it's definitely a good idea to learn as much about a product before naming it! Yes, it was intended to be used on any plastic, especially weathered plastic. I tested it last week on a 1984 BMW 318i which has huge amounts of black rubber/plastic trim between the body and the metal bumper.

Hah I wouldn't use it as a pomade--although since you mention it, my father was the first one to introduce pomade to the Taiwan market back in the 60's...

No this formula is a very smooth, non sticky gel that is based conceptually around a formulation that was designed to penetrate your dry skin and provide long term moisturization. We found the porous nature of plastic has similar properties.

eVal Feb 19, 2007 08:34 AM

CPR - Complete Plastic Renew or Reviver

"Bring your plastics back to life with the Amazing CPR" :)

Something like that... Resuscitate or breath life back into your old plastic... I'll try to put the thinking cap on my tired brain.

Or hows about making it all fancy schmancy, "Plastique Fantastique"? :D

OctaneGuy Feb 19, 2007 08:45 AM

Haha nice try. Although I created the Octane Energy Gel products, I don't want similar names for the automotive products since it's an entirely different family. Not to mention, Octane Gel sounds like a fuel additive in gel form

So when will Uncle Richard's Special Sauce be available to the public

OctaneGuy Feb 19, 2007 08:52 AM

I'm in the 3rd stage of final testing. I made a small batch yesterday in the lab for the samples that I'm sending out this week. I'm hoping to have a limited number of bottles by AMVIV. If I don't have the full size bottles by then, I will have around 100 samples for my students to try. While the sample bottles are mini, it's enough to dress all exterior trim and then some.
