New Year's Eve Plans

I know that Scavenger and bmKiss67 have expressed interest about New Year's Eve, but I want to know if we should get together as a group. Any ideas? All I remember doing is going to either B-more or Annapolis.

From Maryland Hall to City Dock, Annapolis will be rocking with community spirit at this family centered non alcohol * celebration. The City's the stage as you celebrate with arts, music, dance, and all ...

* We do drink on Maryland Ave..

Anyways, it's a fun family event. I will be volunteering during the day but in the evening we are planning to go dancing in Eastport.

All I can say is that Annapolis sure has changed in the last 20+ years. (Let's just say I spent a fair amount of time there when things were a wee bit different!) Sure would enjoy seeing how things have turned out now, but alas I'm working New Years Eve

I'll bet the City Dock area still is crowded with revelers though. (And sure would enjoy a return to the Rams Head Tavern after all these years -- although I'm old enough to remember it when all there was too it was the original walk down basement bar area!)

My family will be in Ocean City, MD for xmas and New Years. Otherwise I'd join you all:thumbsup:

I am probably going to be dogsitting over New Year's... while I would love to join you all, I am concerned that Annapolis is too far away to enjoy myself and still return in time to take care of the doggie.

My cousin has invited me to a bonfire, which is hard to pass up considering I'm like a 12 year old when I get near fire.... I wanna burn stuff!

In the immortal words of Beavis, "FIRE, FIRE, FIRE":lol::lol:

gotta love the Mummers. Last yr I went out for lunch in downtown Philly on New Years Day, they were all over. Running into restaurants, goofing off with people, all over downtown. I love them

I have no idea what my New Year's plans are. Usually I avoid avoid avoid going out on New Year's Eve. Things are too expensive and too many crazy folks out there on the roads. But, if we do put something together I can't think of a group of people I would rather be with.

Alan, K was asking us what we were doing for New Year's and I thought you all didn't have anything planned

Another possibility - seems that Union Jack's in Bethesda has a NYE special event going... tickets are only $20 (when bought in advance), which includes party favors, pool & darts all night, heavy hors d'oeuvres from 8-10pm, a live DJ and a complimentary champagne toast at midnight. Not too bad really!

Just an idea.

Alot of people were asking me what is going on for New Year's @ Katies. Well, things are still being worked out aparently. There are a couple of things being worked out and I will let everyone know very soon.

I don't believe everyone heard this:

Maxicooper said

DCMM is invited to his house for New Years Eve. He said there would be plenty of food. If the food is anything like the Pad Tai he brought (and I suspect it would be) this would be a real threat. Sounds like a great cross cultural opportunity.

Maxicooper Dec 17, 2006 12:58 PM

We are not going out this year, so we will just do some cooking and stay home for the count down. It's going to be very low key.
I've mentioned to Jay last night at Katie's that if anyone has no plan please come and celebrate new year together.

Wagnbat Dec 17, 2006 03:27 PM

I'm interested in possibly doing something for NY. I've been gone the last two, and there's a 50/50 chance I'll be gone for this one as well... But if I'm in town I'll likely participate (depending on drinking/driving situation) because otherwise I'd just sit at home.

Maxicooper Dec 17, 2006 04:20 PM

Don't worry about DUI.
I heard DCMM will provide a "FREE" MINI-Shuttle on the New Year's Eve.
jk.

Wagnbat Dec 27, 2006 06:16 PM

Disregard my interest... Just recieved word I'll be elsewhere within 24 hours... :/

Edge Dec 27, 2006 06:34 PM

So... is anyone interested in going to Union Jack's for New Years? It's only $20...

I can't go any further from home than that because I'll be dogsitting, but it seemed like a neat idea, especially since it's smoke-free (because it's in Montgomery County).

Febmoon1 Dec 28, 2006 02:44 AM

I'll be in Jamaica! YA MON!

It looks like that MiniNurse and I are not going to do anything but stay home this year, we are both sick.

Must be something in Germantown. I've been sick since Wednesday but we may head to Guapos to finish off the year.
