Replacing headlight washer jet-- doable?

The washer stalk on my R53 ('02 "S") has broken off my driver-side headlight washer jet, so the chrome cover is gone as well, which looks crappy.

My local MINI dealer quoted me $959 to replace the whole headlight assembly, which he said is the only way to fix the problem. But based on my online research, there seems to be a separate part no. for just the washer jet nozzle (61677147047).

If I order the headlight washer jet part, is it conceivable I could install it myself? Has anyone tried this?

Yes this is do-able yourself. Don't pay that! Unfortunately, when the chrome piece comes off, 99% of the time it also breaks off with the tip of the sprayer itself. Thats why you need the sprayer and the chrome piece. The hose just clips on and the sprayer is just held in there by a tab at theend of it. Just remember to put the sprayer on first and then add the chrome piece once the sprayer isinstalled. and dont forget to pull off white clip from the sprayer once all is done. Hope that helps

+1^^^
I have removed and re-installed these a few times. Very easy fix. I think the part is around $70. My neighbor had to replace this part a few weeks ago also. Should take you about 10-15 minutes tops.
