PCV Delete on Non-S? (searched) :(

I would like to delete the PCV hose on the passenger's side by plugging them up with the Peugeot blanks as Czar has stated in his couple-years-old thread. However because I could not find much details on "Non-S" PCV deletes and OCCs, I am not sure if it is safe to do and what I should do for the other PCV hose (on the air intake driver's side).

My confusion here is that since the non-S obviously do not have a turbo, intercooler, etc., would the effects of doing only the PCV delete without installing an OCC on the other PCV cause problems (i.e. crankcase pressure anomalies)?

Perhaps I would purchase and install an OCC in the future, but my thoughts at moment lead me to believe that it is not as necessary to have an OCC on the port-injected, naturally aspirated N14 Prince engines.

Essentially, I would appreciate any advice and help in answering these few questions:

-Can I only install the blanking caps mentioned here and enjoy the benefits of the mod without any problems? (and without installing a catch can)

-Has anybody done this to their Non-S Coopers?

Simple. Dont do it! You'll end up replacing a valve cover...

You won't have the problem of carbon building up on the back of the intake valves (if that's what you're hoping to solve) with a non-s Cooper. The port fuel injection will wash the valves as it runs. So you won't need a oil catch can either.

Why?
What do you expect to gain on a non-s??

Well if you guys put it that way...perhaps just the psychological thought of knowing blow-by exhaust vapours do not re-enter the block at all...and perhaps I am just a bit paranoid about the internals of the engine knowing that I have never and probably ever will take the block apart to inspect for build-up.

But if you guys say so!

Blow-by MUST go somewhere....
If you plug it up...seals start to leak.....
Pre pcv (emissions) the crankcase was just vented to the outside...
But by burning the blowby, it is usually a win-win...
Cleaner air...no oil on the ground...even more efficiency...
Direct injection motors do have different issues....
The non-s is not direct injection...
It is conventional....
Get a catch can if you are worried about oils in the pcv system.....

Another reason, but temporary

Having cold start rough idle lean fuel air mixture - P2187 only error. My mechanic wants to replace the valve cover, says it's the PCV valve in the cover.

Was reading somewhere else on the forum that on the S (not much on the N12 engines) the idle is controlled by the Passengers side PCV valve going into the crankcase valve on the valve cover.

If this is true, then wouldn't (as a test) plugging the passengers side PCV and opening the drivers side verify the problem, and perhaps get some safe driving till the new PCV valve came along?
