We've nearly completed one of the wildest rides I've ever taken, building a $500 racecar out of a mini (or in our case, two partial minis). We've learned that we're the first classic mini to enter the race and we're also the oldest car to date to enter the race.... now if only we could actually turn a lap!

If you haven't checked out our build diary website, please do so here:

We're departing for the track Thursday afternoon (that would be THIS afternoon since it's already 2:06am) and the car is n-e-a-r-l-y done. Might get to finally drive it for the first time while loading it onto the trailer.

The race is Saturday and Sunday Aug 15th and 16th at Buttonwillow raceway park. Friday is supposed to be a hoot, too, while the cars are going through inspection. Sunday you get to vote to see 1 of the cars crushed right before your very eyes. Learn more about the race at

http://www.24hoursoflemons.com/

Spectator tickets are available online or at the gate. Hope some folks can come by and cheer us on! We'll have extra drinks and chairs at our paddock so please join us!

The race was actually this past weekend and there's still pics and video to upload from prior to the race. It's just that my hands are wrecked at the moment from non-stop wrenching and mousing/keyboarding is quite painful. Will try to get more up as I can.

Some pics:
