Rejoining the MINI/Mini Crowd (again!)

Back in 2008 when we had a MC and a MCS, we bought a classic Mini we named Bosley. That car was a total blast to putter around in. Alas, due to financial reasons we sold him, and have hated ourselves for it since.

Things have improved of late and last week we saw another classic Mini for sale by the same person from whom we bought Bosley, so this weekend we drove up to Kansas City again and drove all the way home again an AWESOME 1984 Austin Mini Mayfair edition.

You're welcome to check out my post here on NAM:

I have enjoyed the 328i Coupe I'm currently driving but after confirming that a MINI dealership is opening in LR in the spring, thus getting rid of the necessity of making that horrible trek to Memphis, I said what the heck and put in an order for a 2012 Countryman S. I know I know...Countryman aren't true MINIs and yadda yadda, but the family has grown and we have the need for a more practical vehicle.

We may motor in the Mayfair up to Eureka on the Saturday that you guys are doing MITO. Not planning to officially participate because our schedules are a little too tight, but it's a great excuse to drive the old car through some awesome roads and meet some awesome people in an awesome area of our state.

Hope to see you all soon!

So glad you are getting another MINI. Also, love the Mini Mayfair. Hope y'all come up to Eureka. We have over 100 cars coming so far. There are also a few classic Mini's coming. Looking forward to seeing you again. Can't wait until Spring 2013. It's about time AR got a MINI dealership.

Thank you Nancy. I have really missed the comraderie with the AMOKs. BMW folks are definitely a different sort of crowd. I am definitely looking forward to driving up to Eureka. If I knew for sure my Countryman S was going to be in before then I would just go ahead and register, but as it is it'll probably just be a one day trip for us.

The Countryman is an awesome vehicle with the larger family it'll be just perfect for you. While the CM does not handle as well as it's bretheren it is still the best Crossover SUV out there. Yesterday, Automobile Magazine (www.automobilemag.com) published their report on the CM after a year in it. The report was favorable but only with the steptronic. Enjoy!!!!
