Katie's 2nd Annual FREE Spaghetti Dinner

To be held on Tues. May 1st at 7 PM.
This was so successful last year that I'm doing it again. Free dinner for the early birds, to be held at my cabin (I'll post which one as soon as I know it).
I will supply pasta, my home-made sauce..made fresh that day, and a salad.
I will have paper products as well.
BYOB
Supplies of food will be limited. I made 8 quarts of sauce and 6 pounds of pasta last year and nearly all of it was eaten. I plan on making the same amount this year, so don't be late!

Katie,
Wouldn't miss it. We'll see you Tuesday evening. What can we bring?
Joel & Maggie

kgdblu Feb 21, 2007 05:56 PM

holey moley!! It's only Feb. 21st, and I'm going to have 23 dinner guests in May...with more sure to come.:eek2::lol::lol:
I'm a really good cook, but I can only make so much. Last year, I think I fed @ a dozen folk..and I cooked all day!...and most of the evening(lots of pasta).
Now I'm not saying that everyone's not welcome, and I want everyone to come I really do! I have a fairly large cabin with a deck and picnic table, tho' there were a lot of carpenter bees back there.
This is what I propose....if you can bring food that will feed a few extra, bring it. We'll do a buffet kinda thing. Sandwich fixings, extra salads, snick snacks.
Some one can do dessert, tho that's what everyone brings.:lol:
If the weather co-operates, it'll be like a big ole picnic...if not, it'll be ...cozy.

JustJAY Feb 21, 2007 07:19 PM

We will have Salads covered. It will be those bag salads, so no veggies unless there are in there already.

TheWrks Feb 21, 2007 08:01 PM

We will bring something don't know what yet

mmatarella Feb 22, 2007 10:59 AM

I'll bring something. Have to look and see what I can do, I'd think one of those large frozen lasagna's would be good. If someone staying at a cabin in Fontana would put it in their oven. I'm staying at the Phillips down in Robbinsville so I can't cook it on site.

Cozy is what MINIs do best! I am SURE it will be a blast. I can't wait! Maybe I'll come over so I can sample that sauce of yours again...

JanCo Feb 22, 2007 01:59 PM

The hubby and I are staying at Fontana in a cabin on Circle drive. We're checking in on Monday the 30th. I haven't seen the cabin so I'm not sure of the amenities, but I'm sure it will have a stove. I'd be happy to help in any way.

thanks for all the offers of help:nod: As the day gets closer and if you can, please post what you can bring.
As I was thinking about this last night, one of the major things we'll need is coolers and ice. I can put a few drinks in my fridge, but not many. We'll want to keep everyone's beverages cold, right? So if anyone's bringing a cooler with them to the Dragon, and you plan on coming on Tues., can we borrow cooler space?
Thanks again...I can't wait cuz it'll be so much fun. Keep everything crossed so we'll have good weather.

JustJAY Feb 23, 2007 09:58 PM

We will be bringing a cooler. $2/sq. in.:lol::lol:

Hopefully we will have the same cabin that we had last year, right down the road from you, so you can hijack our stove, oven, fridge, whatever you need.

kgdblu Feb 24, 2007 06:00 PM

cool, thanx:grin:
