iPhone 3G and Bluetooth Phonebook

I a new 09 Cooper S and a iphone 3G with the convenience package. I already have the iphone sync up with the bluetooth. on the iphone i have some contacts with last name and when it syncs up to the MCS, the address on there sorts by last name first. Is there anyway for the mini address book to sort by first name?

Yes, the setting is taken from your phones preferences. You must delete the phone in your MINI. Go to the Mail, Contacts, Calendars section in the iPhones preferences. Change sort order order to First, Last. Pair your phone. Everything will be first name ordered on the MINI.

As far as I can tell it will only take the sort order the first time you pair it, so you can change it on your phone back to Last, First if you prefer using last names on your phone for sorting.

Can anybody else confirm that this works?
My iPhone 3G has always been set to sort first, last. In my 08 MC w/o Nav it displayed correctly until the car went in for service and got an update.

In my 09 MCS w/Nav it sorts last, first...no matter what I do.

Any ideas?

In my playing around with it (in 07 Nav, essentially the same) when you change the sort order on the phone (not display order, has no effect) You must unpair it and then pair it again for the change to take effect immediately. I know the Nav systems still look the same, it's possible they have changed the software. But try unpairing, changing the sort order, then pair it to the car again.
