Something else to do
I posted this on the DCMM board, before realizing that you had started a separate thread!

While you're in that area (America's Historic Triangle - Williamsburg, Yorktown, Jamestown), you've got to check out my friends' schooner. They offer daily sailing trips from Yorktown's Riverwalk Landing Pier.

Sweet! Any idea what a ride on that beautiful vessel costs? I've lived around here all of my life and have wanted to go sailing on a tall masted schooner!

It's $30 for adults and $18 for kids 12 and under, for a 2 hour cruise at 11a and 2p.

Their 2-hour sunset cruises are $35 per person.

The Riverwalk Landing is fairly new in Yorktown, too - they've got a few shops, restaurant, pub/bar, Ben & Jerry's. There's also a nice beach that seems pretty popular. And, of course, there's the Yorktown Battlefield Visitor's Center.
